I'm a nerd about everything so of course I'll make this post.
I got up super early on Friday to go to St. Augustine. I went up to see my friend Mary and also to attend an Evening with the Gabels. Mary had to work for most of it, so I wanted to make sure and have time before she had to work to hang out. We basically chilled and looked at pictures. She went to work and I went to the show. I was super excited that Heather was finally having a show in FL. I've loved her work for years and years, but never got to see pieces in person besides the one's I've bought. I got their first so I got to walk around the boutique and look at everything. It's called Anchor Boutique and will soon make me broke. Such great stuff there.Laurel is super nice too. The Gabels arrive and they had their daughter with them. She was running all over the store. Super cute and super smart, her name is Evelyn. I was able to get a Wolf Mistress print which I absolutely love, so much that I got the shirt as well and some pins.Where to put all these pins?
Never thought I'd get asked my opinion on whether or not they should buy a goat's head, but Tom asked. That thing would be creepy in the middle of the night if you'd get up for some water, but it would be great in a guest room. I met Emily from the forum...at least I hope it's Emily, I'm terrible with names at first. We were in line by each other back in February. We had a nice chat which ended up about Fake Problems wherein a guy chimed in too about them and Chris D. Small world. I averted a disaster of a cooler breaking open. We all chipped in to clean up the water that came from everywhere! I kept showing people the different art Heather had out and the pricing, it was pretty funny.
The acoustic show was held in the alley out back. It was great. The sound was awesome and it was gorgeous night out. We had bags with candles for light. The crowd was one of the best. Made it super fun. I helped a girl out who I noticed batteries died. I was covering my flash so as not to blind everyone in this tiny alley and the results were awesome. I was told I didn't need photoshop and was a professional as a result! We heard some new songs that were fantastic. I really like "Black Me Out", it's just what I needed for what's going on. I aquired a guitar string which I'm making something out of. I wasn't going to do any video because I knew Tom was nervous, but I wasn't sure if Mary made it in time and Alecia couldn't come so I may have taken 2....Good thing because Mary didn't make it for the acoustic part. We ended up sitting on the little stage with her boyfriend talking music and crazy tales. We got some great pictures at the very end which mine was titled by Heather as "I spent all evening with the Gabels, fuck yeah!".
I asked Tom if anyone stole the set list yet and he said he stole them, this is one, but this is the real one and gave it to me aha. I love random things like that.
Then it was late night pizza and baggage before a short sleep and the drive back. I think Saint Augustine wants me to stay in St.Augustine because every time I leave it pours.
