Are You Restless Like Me?

I keep writing in my paper journal, sorry guys.

So the work situation is shit. Over worked, underpaid and some fucked up harassment issues. I finally weighed myself and it's not good. At a scary fucking level. I have no idea what I'm going to do. The recession is still hitting hard here so no jobs. I have no where else to go either. I almost did in Tampa, but it fell through.

Besides that I've been recording more and then's been some awesome events in town.

I donated my hair! Right before Bike Prom too which was fun! We did a 7 mile ride all fancy. I was head to toe bikes and polka dots, it ruled!

Enoch and Natalie aka Ancient Whales moved to North Carolina. It looks gorgeous there and I'm happy for them. Luckily I got to record their last show here. They will be missed here. Their shows were so much fun and full of crazy good energy.

Common Grounds is closing by the end of this month. Fucking bummer. So many bands have played there through the years. So many FL bands. Right in the heart of Gainesville too. A show was put together 2 weeks ago for one last week. It was Against Me!, Ninja Gun and another(personal reasons why I choose not to name them).I bought my ticket and told work I had a last hurrah get together in Gainesville. I got a hold of Tom and everything got ok'd for me to record the show. He even added that they wouldn't pull any of that shit they did in NY(meaning the venues). Hell yes!

I drove up to Tampa and then Alecia drove us to Gainesville where we hung out and nerded out with Aron all day. I was Will Call and Guest Listed so we went early and danced to Wally wally wally wally world while the line formed and they got the lists together. Both were supposed to be the same but I waited in one line to be sent to the other. I used my guest listing to get in and wanted to give my ticket away.We had it all set up for Alecia's friend, but he never came! I just wanted someone else in that building! I got the biggest hug from Andrew and we talked cameras.Technology nerds. Ninja Gun was amazing. I danced like crazy and they covered Sabbath! Thank goodness I had Alecia and Aron there to get me through the next band.

Oh yeah! There were signs posted all over stating that there would be filming that night and by entering you're signing the waiver-AM! I partially had signs! There was a guy taking pics and I could see he did some video too. But hell yes!

There was no room on the side of the stage so I ended up standing on a railing to record. I was standing before they started and for almost 5 songs when I was told I couldn't stand. I was so focused on recording at that point that I didn't realize what the guy was saying. Luckily I was careful and you don't hear any of that on the video.First time I used zoom too! I ended up kneeling the rest of the set. I didn't realize it until the encore and seeing the footage ,but that was one of the loudest shows I've ever been to. Right up there with the Body when they played Hoople. Both shows everything shook from the noise. The entire building! The set was great, the crowd was great! Warren was right up in the pit and danced with Alecia! I did have 2 Thrash Unreal ladies next to me. Luckily they stopped yelling once the music started. Well until there was a pause and they drunkenly yelled thrash unreallll thrash unnnnnnnn reaaaalll. Then when it's played at the end of the set, they talk and then run into me. After kneeling for an hour your knees are asleep and if they get hit it's the worst pain, you can't move. I somehow got my legs to move so I could sit for the encore. I caught all the little interactions the guys had on stage, it was great. Most.Fun.And.Hottest.Show.Ever.

It's part of history and someone had to capture it. I'm thrilled it was me. So many people ended up on stage for the last song. I couldn't even find Jay or Andrew at the end. Alecia and Aron went and chilled in the car and I went up to the stage with everyone else. It was only Tom when I got there and as soon as I could get to him I just exclaimed I got it! I got it all! He couldn't wait to see the footage. I got pics and we look so stoked with excitement from that show. So much energy in one room! I made sure to find Jordan and thank him too before we headed out.

A few days later was Tomness Fest. Tom was in a bunch of bands back in the day and a part of the community here. He unfortunately lost his fight with cancer. 3 nights of shows were put together to raise money for his family to cover medical bills and funeral costs. It's a sad situation, but everyone got together to celebrate his life.

The last night The Anchorite Four reunited again to play the fest. I got to record them too. It was amazing on different levels. One of the bands from here I would go see all the time was back together. I've got a good amount of pictures , but besides a few vids from an old digital camera I didn't have any video. Now I've got a whole set! And a lot of money was raised and people celebrated life. Luc told me afterwards"don't delete that show", wise words.

2 bands I love. 2 bands I don't get to see all the time, I got to record in the same week. Last week ruled.

I'm always humbled when the shows, 14 now! get 20 views because I know there's at least 20 people at them. It was really exciting seeing how fast and many views the AM! video got. I'm so humbled by all the nice things people have been saying about all the videos from last week and in general. I worked hard and went through a lot to get where I am. I just love music and capturing it in any way I can.
